Gruta da Terra Mole
Gruta da Terra Mole
Scanning electron micrographs and associated electron dispersive spectra from a sample of white microbial mat from Gruta da Terra Mole. imaged on 29 May 2008. Images show the presence of large (approximately 10 microns in diameter) structures that may be pollen grains, beads-on-a-string and hairy sausage shaped bacteria, possible Actinobacteria morphologies, and a thick biofilm.
