Are all stars the same: looking at star features in cave samples
This album shows images of star shaped features found in ferromanganese deposits in three limestone caves, Lechuguilla Cave and Spider Cave in New Mexico and Jewel Cave in South Dakota. However, scientists still know very little about these features. We hope that examination of these images will increase our understanding of these features and may shed light on how they originate. Attached with each image is information about that image. In addition, there are lessons for secondary school and college level students using the images.
